Now let's see what we had to deal with in Freebie One. Here is the guitar fingerboard: ![notes3.gif](https://guitararts.tripod.com//sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/notes3.gif)
Guitar Charts like these invariably give the Low 'E' string the lowest line on the neck when in fact it is the "highest", or the string that faces you first when you hold a guitar in your lap. I assume, of course, that you have a lap. The low 'E' string however remains the thickest string, followed by the 'A' string, then 'D' string, 'G' string, 'B', then the skinniest string (at the physical bottom of your guitar, or closest to your lap)is again a 'E' string. ![notes2.gif](https://guitararts.tripod.com//sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/notes2.gif)
